Minibar

Tucked away in an old computer tower is where I keep the alcohism

When I upgraded the GPU in my PC a few years back, I also had to get a larger tower shell and I try not to make too much waste. It being so small made it hard to sell off and then I had the idea to make a little mini bar.

I ripped out all the internals and cut away some of the shell to get as much space as possible. I then cut some wood to size and stained them in Japan Black for the flooring, the wall (or rear of the tower,) and a shelf. I also had an old motherboard I’ve been wanting to include in some kind of project for the aesthetic. Originally I was thinking of a desk bu this was perfect. From there I used super strength areldyte to bond some screws to the tower interior and face along with the hinge to keep it flush. Then one went the chain.

It wasn’t until it fully cured I realised there wasn’t any way to close it properly but magnets were an easy fix. Lastly, the images don’t show it exactly, but I wired up some LEDs and a battery to the power button. If you turn it on, there’s a motion sensor interior light. Which I thought was a fun detail. But the door/shelf is more than strong enough to hold several full bottles while you’re mixing away whatever you want. And while it doesn’t fit a whole lot, it’s still a nice and compact way to store a few things.

This post is mainly just a test run. I intend to from now on, record things a lot more. Maybe I’ll include designs/drawings and stuff like that too but for now this is just very straight forward.
